Organic truth
Our Organic Mission is simple. We strive to give you a product that is grown naturally and without any artificial additions.
The buckwheat plant is able to grow and develop fully by itself, without the need for human interference.
Buckwheat is able to protect soil against erosion, fight nematodes and reduce the action of soil pests. It is also characterised by the ability to absorb nitrogen and phosphorus from the soil. It is resistant to pests and diseases, and at the same time has low sensitivity to soil conditions. It is also not as sensitive to weeds because it grows quickly after emergence, covers the rows and smothers weeds - even couch grass.
Buckwheat is recommended for cultivation on organic farms due to its high resistance to diseases and fungi and high sensitivity to herbicides. It blooms for quite a long time and ripens evenly. Harvesting takes place when 75-85% of the seeds are brown and ripe, but not yet falling. The collected seed is dried at 45 degrees Celsius and systematically ventilated during storage. We are receiving 3 products during the process; the full seed is used as groats/kasha, broken seeds we mill and make flour. The outer shells of the seed are used to fill up the pillows we produce. In the hull itself there is no development of harmful microorganisms which makes it highly recommended for infants and allergy sufferers.
Straw, chaff, and green fodder are left on the field after harvest and used as compost for the next circle of growth.
Our buckwheat is purely organic from the seed to the groat, this process is certified through the EU. It is also monitored and certified by the Polish Government.
